Courses dedicated to foreign nationals:

✅ Polish language – elementary course A1– recruitment completed

The elementary level course (Survival Polish) is designed for everyone who is just beginning to learn the Polish language. Within the planned 60 hours it prepares the participants to communicate in basic, everyday situations.

  • Realisation period: March 2022- June 2022
  • Time and frequency: 60 hours, in the evening, twice a week, groups of 20 participants
  • Location: On-line via MS Teams platform
  • Participants will be provided with accident insurance

Polish course – intermediate B1–  applications by March 27

The intermediate level course is designed for everyone whose command of Polish allows for preparing to pass the state certification exam at the B1 level. Within the planned 60 hours the participants will learn about the structure of the exam, task types and the language material in accordance with official requirements for the exam. To take part in the course you need to pass a placement test.

  • Realisation period: April 2022- June 2022
  • Time and frequency: 60 hours, in the evening, twice a week, groups of 20 participants

It is a series of two workshops focused on the practical aspects of living and working in Poland:

Part 1: “Polish culture- how to live in Poland and make the best of it?” the university lecturer Julita Woźniak will explain to you, e.g.

  • Why sometimes Poles don’t want to join your small talk at work?
  • Is it acceptable to talk about money?
  • Do you need to be punctual when going to a business meeting?
  • Why sometimes do people stare at you on a tram?
  • How can you know where the queue to the ticket office finishes?
  • Can you grab the last peace on the plate?
  • What are Polish traditions?

Part 2: “How to deal with stressful situations when you are a foreigner in Poland? the Police Officer Adam Dembiński will explain to you, e.g.

  • How to deal with daily challenges like healthcare or renting an apartment?
  • What can you get a ticket for and how to avoid it?
  • What are the basic rules for drivers and pedestrians?
  • Where better not to go at night?
  • What to do when someone attacks you on the street?
  • How to call for help and present your case to the police?
  • How to behave so you do not get into trouble by accident?
